Typical Teenager Problem

A teenager’s parents disagree with their son about his college destination.
1. The problem is that the teenager’s dream is to go to Stanford even though his grades will take him to Harvard, the best university in the world. And his parent’s dreams for their child is to attend to Harvard.
2. - Attend stanford for one trimester then transfer to harvard for another trimester.
- Make a presentation proving that stanford is more critical for your interests.
- If your dad is into sports or music or theatre or anything, you can show him an example of actor, sport professional or music player who can behis idol, and tell him that he went to stanford.
3. - If the student attends stanford for three months and transfers to harvard, the disadvantange will be that if he wants to goback to stanford he might not be admitted because the school can not have enough space or might think that the student is fooling around and they can become mad and tell him to go search for anothercollege. The positive side of this solution is that the student can have his share, he can attend his university choice and attend where his parents wanted him to go. The other advantage is that while he changes schools, the way of teaching is diferrent and he might learn better in one school than in the other.
- The advantages for making a presentation is your passion about attending that special university. If the budget is better and less costy than the other college then it is better. If the clarity of your plan is good then it might help them analyse better the situation. If your intentions are good and your are responsible and independent and mature enough then they will trust you. The diadvantage might be that you botch your presentation and then they will see that you want to randomly attend a place without knowing anything about it.
- The advantages of showing your dad a very famous person that he likes that attended that school lets him reflect on the situation and then he sais that the university is good and very talented people attend it so he might accept.
4. A plan B would be if stanford doesn’t work out, then harvard would be my plan B.

Pros and Cons of Globalization

http://www.tcnj.edu/globalization
The Pros:

  • Now for the companies there is a worldwide market and there is more access for people to products from different countries.

  • There is a flow of money in the developing countries.

  • There is an increase in the production sector due to the worldwide market and there are lots of options for the companies.

  • There is a world power being created in the place of compartmentalized sectors. The merging of politics and discussions are beneficial for all the people over the world.

  • There is more information between two countries that do not have anything in common.

  • Since everyone shares financial interests, corporate and governemts are trying to fix problems for each other.

  • People have socially became more open and tolarent towards otherswho live in other parts of the world.

  • There is a lot of technology developement that people have undergone over these past years.

  • The pro-globalization lobby is arguing that globalization is bringing much increase opportunities for about everyone and has increased competition is a good thing because it productio agents more efficient.

  • The world trade organization is a pan-governmental entity that was set up to create a set of rules for the governing of a global trade.

The Cons:

  • As globalizaton starts to become a more commun feature of world economics, powerful pro-globalization and anti-globalization lobbies arrose.

  • Europeans are loosing jobs and that's making a roblem for them because the companies are out of sources for the Asian countries since the labor cost has been low and profits the company in a considerable way.

  • There is a huge pressure on the employed Europeans who always are alaws under the business's threat of being outsourced.

  • Corporates are building units in the other countries that are well equiped as they have done at their own country.

  • There are some experts who think that globalization with positive aspects is leading to the incursion of negatives like comunicable diseases and social degeneration.

  • There is a corportation threat that is ruling the world because of the great amount of power which is invested in them due to globalization.

  • The nations that are present in the receiver's end, are giving up the reins in the ends of a unknown company that may lead to a sophisticated form of colonization once more.

Moroccan Revolutions in Industry, technology, and business.

Business Trade and commerce in Morocco
Phosphate, rock mining, processing, food processing, leather goods, textiles, selling of arts and crafts, construction and tourism are the main industries in Morocco.
Import and Export
Exporting and importing is Morocco's main trade. Even though there are arts and crafts everywhere in the country, arts and crafts are exported to near countries. Unfortunetly the quality of arts and crafts became worse over the centuries and has been changed by current and modern techniques. Other legal principal exports in Morocco are clothes, fish (mostly sardines) phosphates, fruit and vegetables, and canabis (even though it was illegal).
Industries in Morocco
Morocco is one of Africa's leaders in mining industries. Morocco's oil industries is an important sector in the country's economy. In addition to the oil industries, Morocco has a chemical industry and has one of the largest markets in the African Lubricants industries. Morocco today is a developing country with 70% of total exports. Other industries like food (sugar, flour, milk), textile and leather, cement, chemical and mechanic industries are present in Morocco.
Morocco's Filming Industry
Morocco's filming industry becomes very popular as many movies have been and still are filmed in regions of the country. Ouarzazate the desert of Morocco has been used for many films and dressed up as many countries for films such as "Body of lies" for Iraq, for Jerusalem "Kingdom of heaven" and many others. Many of the ready built-sets, cheap labor, and remarkable landscapes have transformed this sleepy region into a third Hollywood World.
Technology in Morocco
The technology in Morocco has really developed during these passed years and is still expanding. Many technological stores are built in Morocco everytime like Apple and other computer and phone stores, technopark a chain of work bureaus used to satisfy people's desires technologically. Also Morocco is the first country in Africa to install a 3G network. The telecommunications in Morocco cromprises threee operators: Maroc Telecom, Meditel, and Wana. But now they want to go down to two operators, Meditel and Wana.

What I learned in the Socratic Seminar?

During last day's seminar, I learned a lot from the group. I learned from my group and from others' groups in the socratic seminar. I noticed that most of the people participated and those who didn't either wanted to listen or didn't understand what was going on. Many people like Amine, Mohamed Slaoui and Myriam and other names made good remarks on the EQ questions. Others changed subjects but that was realated to the discussion in another way. I talked i little bit but i wanted to share more. Next time maybe i would speak without hesitating and without thinking my answer is wrong, after all we are all learning ( in a group ) it helps.

Most people wanted to enter the circle because the discussion was getting interesting. I also noticed that once we began everyone became silent and listened to the discussion and no one was bored not that i know of. There was a debate between Mohamded Benouanas and Myriam Belghiti about the "conflicts that lead to change", Zineb and I interacted with them and proved many points. The conversation lasted all the period that's what was good about it. It is also fun in a way that you don't have to stand up in front of everyone and speak to the whole class you are in a small group per question and you talk or don't and when you don't, the others talk about things and then you bring up opinions and ideas. I think this is better if we could do this socratic seminar twice a week or so it would be better than just sitting in desks taking notes we learn more and memorize more than the notes.

Earthquake in Haiti

The picture of this woman was on the first page of all the newspapers in the world.

On Tuesday January 12, 2010 an extreme earthquake occurred near Port Au Prince which is the capital of Haiti. This earthquake was followed by smaller earthquakes. An estimation of 50 - 500 thousand people died and thousands of others still remain missing. Right now the people are searching for survivors and are leaving the capital in search of food. The buildings were poorly built and many collapsed. The buildings weren't constructed to withstand an earthquake of that magnitude (7.0). They also didn't have enough money to buid strong buildings. The people are still in great suffering. The lack of water, food, and medecin are killing them. Some people were very lucky and survived while their family died. They are now fighting for their survival and for the finding of food and water. Haiti is the poorest country in the world because every year or few years, a catastrophe or disaster happens in that country and it makes the country poor and not well developed every time. My prays are with them.

Successes and Failures of Reconstruction

Successes
Union is restored
(This is a success because everything came back together)
The south’s economy grows and new wealth is created in the North
(This is a success because the economic growth is a good thing especially in the south because during the civil war they were behind the north economically)
Fourteenth and Fifteenth amendments guarantee African Americans the rights of citizenship, equal protection under the law, and suffrage
(This is a success because freedmen are now free and they have to be treated much better due to the new laws)
Freedmen's Bureau and other organizations help many black families obtain housing, jobs, and schooling
(This is a success because it is the same thing as the passed fourteenth and fifteenth amendment they have to follow the new laws)
Southern states adopt a system of mandatory education.
(This is a success because it will help the blacks have the right to be educated and earn a better job than farmers)

Failures
Many white southerners remain bitter toward the federal government and the Republican Party.
(This is a failure because even due to the new laws against slavery, the African American people won’t ever be treated the same way as the southerners)
The south is slow to industrialize
(This is a failure because one of the advantages of South and north was that the south would succeed)
After federal troops are withdrawn, southern state governments and terrorist organizations effectively deny African Americans the right to vote
(This is a failure because it’s avoiding the amendment that says everyone should be able to vote and it helps the African Americans to stay down)
Many black and white southerners remain caught in a cycle of poverty.
(This is a failure because it is not a profit to the south’s economy)
Racist attitudes toward African Americans continue, in both the South and the North.
(This is a failure because it is racist and it’s one of the reasons why the civil war started, slavery had to be abolished and racism had to stop)

The Enforcement Act of 1870 was a success because it banned the usage of terror, force, and bribery to stop people from voting due to their race.
The KKK is a failure because their hard work during the civil war had all been forgotten by the proslavery group who punished people who didn’t think like them.
