The american colonists and the British defeated the greatest power of their time, during the French and British and Indian war. They demonstrated that they were the strongest and they did so by being in the Revolutionary War. They first tremendously victored the war between them (British) and colonies far, far away. British and the colonies far away had a common enemy which was France. The control over North America was lead by the Europeans, which explored the Indian lands, while the English prepared and built their settlements. Some conflicts erupted, because the English claimed that some of the territories were theirs. The beginning of French and Indian War has started. The British and their American colonists fought against the French and their Indian allies. In the beginning the British's fighting was very poor. However in 1758, the British started to overtake the French and Indian forces. The Iroquois changed their support to the British, this also had a proof of their strength and intelligence. In 1759, the British invaded New France and captured it, and that lead to more victories for the British. After the war the american colonists had to pay taxes and it was a lot of taxes.

Tahar, it is unclear from your post what exact things the colonists were able to do to defeat the British. Go back to your reading and research to see what you can find.
