  • There is a flow of money in the developing countries.

  • There is an increase in the production sector due to the worldwide market and there are lots of options for the companies.

  • There is a world power being created in the place of compartmentalized sectors. The merging of politics and discussions are beneficial for all the people over the world.

Moroccan Revolutions in Industry, technology, and business.

Business Trade and commerce in Morocco
Phosphate, rock mining, processing, food processing, leather goods, textiles, selling of arts and crafts, construction and tourism are the main industries in Morocco.
Import and Export
Exporting and importing is Morocco's main trade. Even though there are arts and crafts everywhere in the country, arts and crafts are exported to near countries. Unfortunetly the quality of arts and crafts became worse over the centuries and has been changed by current and modern techniques. Other legal principal exports in Morocco are clothes, fish (mostly sardines) phosphates, fruit and vegetables, and canabis (even though it was illegal).
Industries in Morocco
Morocco is one of Africa's leaders in mining industries. Morocco's oil industries is an important sector in the country's economy. In addition to the oil industries, Morocco has a chemical industry and has one of the largest markets in the African Lubricants industries. Morocco today is a developing country with 70% of total exports. Other industries like food (sugar, flour, milk), textile and leather, cement, chemical and mechanic industries are present in Morocco.
Morocco's Filming Industry
Morocco's filming industry becomes very popular as many movies have been and still are filmed in regions of the country. Ouarzazate the desert of Morocco has been used for many films and dressed up as many countries for films such as "Body of lies" for Iraq, for Jerusalem "Kingdom of heaven" and many others. Many of the ready built-sets, cheap labor, and remarkable landscapes have transformed this sleepy region into a third Hollywood World.
Technology in Morocco
The technology in Morocco has really developed during these passed years and is still expanding. Many technological stores are built in Morocco everytime like Apple and other computer and phone stores, technopark a chain of work bureaus used to satisfy people's desires technologically. Also Morocco is the first country in Africa to install a 3G network. The telecommunications in Morocco cromprises threee operators: Maroc Telecom, Meditel, and Wana. But now they want to go down to two operators, Meditel and Wana.

What I learned in the Socratic Seminar?

During last day's seminar, I learned a lot from the group. I learned from my group and from others' groups in the socratic seminar. I noticed that most of the people participated and those who didn't either wanted to listen or didn't understand what was going on. Many people like Amine, Mohamed Slaoui and Myriam and other names made good remarks on the EQ questions. Others changed subjects but that was realated to the discussion in another way. I talked i little bit but i wanted to share more. Next time maybe i would speak without hesitating and without thinking my answer is wrong, after all we are all learning ( in a group ) it helps.

Most people wanted to enter the circle because the discussion was getting interesting. I also noticed that once we began everyone became silent and listened to the discussion and no one was bored not that i know of. There was a debate between Mohamded Benouanas and Myriam Belghiti about the "conflicts that lead to change", Zineb and I interacted with them and proved many points. The conversation lasted all the period that's what was good about it. It is also fun in a way that you don't have to stand up in front of everyone and speak to the whole class you are in a small group per question and you talk or don't and when you don't, the others talk about things and then you bring up opinions and ideas. I think this is better if we could do this socratic seminar twice a week or so it would be better than just sitting in desks taking notes we learn more and memorize more than the notes.

Earthquake in Haiti

The picture of this woman was on the first page of all the newspapers in the world.

On Tuesday January 12, 2010 an extreme earthquake occurred near Port Au Prince which is the capital of Haiti. This earthquake was followed by smaller earthquakes. An estimation of 50 - 500 thousand people died and thousands of others still remain missing. Right now the people are searching for survivors and are leaving the capital in search of food. The buildings were poorly built and many collapsed. The buildings weren't constructed to withstand an earthquake of that magnitude (7.0). They also didn't have enough money to buid strong buildings. The people are still in great suffering. The lack of water, food, and medecin are killing them. Some people were very lucky and survived while their family died. They are now fighting for their survival and for the finding of food and water. Haiti is the poorest country in the world because every year or few years, a catastrophe or disaster happens in that country and it makes the country poor and not well developed every time. My prays are with them.

Successes and Failures of Reconstruction

Successes
Union is restored
(This is a success because everything came back together)
The south’s economy grows and new wealth is created in the North
(This is a success because the economic growth is a good thing especially in the south because during the civil war they were behind the north economically)
Fourteenth and Fifteenth amendments guarantee African Americans the rights of citizenship, equal protection under the law, and suffrage
(This is a success because freedmen are now free and they have to be treated much better due to the new laws)
Freedmen's Bureau and other organizations help many black families obtain housing, jobs, and schooling
(This is a success because it is the same thing as the passed fourteenth and fifteenth amendment they have to follow the new laws)
Southern states adopt a system of mandatory education.
(This is a success because it will help the blacks have the right to be educated and earn a better job than farmers)

Failures
Many white southerners remain bitter toward the federal government and the Republican Party.
(This is a failure because even due to the new laws against slavery, the African American people won’t ever be treated the same way as the southerners)
The south is slow to industrialize
(This is a failure because one of the advantages of South and north was that the south would succeed)
After federal troops are withdrawn, southern state governments and terrorist organizations effectively deny African Americans the right to vote
(This is a failure because it’s avoiding the amendment that says everyone should be able to vote and it helps the African Americans to stay down)
Many black and white southerners remain caught in a cycle of poverty.
(This is a failure because it is not a profit to the south’s economy)
Racist attitudes toward African Americans continue, in both the South and the North.
(This is a failure because it is racist and it’s one of the reasons why the civil war started, slavery had to be abolished and racism had to stop)

The Enforcement Act of 1870 was a success because it banned the usage of terror, force, and bribery to stop people from voting due to their race.
The KKK is a failure because their hard work during the civil war had all been forgotten by the proslavery group who punished people who didn’t think like them.

Slave Resistance in the Civil War

Slave Resistance
The slaver was very hard, the slaves were wipped if they did not work correctly. They were separated from their families. Many slaves chose to not accept this way. Even though they legally said it was a free state people didn't act like it. Safe-house helped people with the underground railroad. The underground railroad was a railroad that led to many different safe-houses for the slaves. They used to knock at different houses everyday for food, clothes, and sleep. The railroad led to Canada a free state, and if the slaves escaped to Canada they would have thier liberty.
The Compromise of 1850
The Compromise was very important. In the 1850's many white Northerners believed that slavery violated the basic principles of the U.S. and the Christian Religion. It didn't mean that they believed that blacks and whites were equal, it just meant that they saw slavery as evil and something that cannot be tolerated.
Uncle Tom's Cabin
Harriet Beecher Stowe said that the average northerners didn't think a lot about slavery. Harriet had experience of slavery, becasue she was a slave. She got sold across the nation. Many farms and territories lost land in war, and many houses were burnt. The Southerners hated the book Propaganda. Many people said the story in the book was a lie and many writers even tried to write books against the Propaganda. They sold 10 000 copies of that book in one week, and in the civil war they sold over 1 million copies. It was one of the most influential novel of that time.
Kansas-Nebraska Act
The land was north of the 36 lattitude, which meant it had to be free. The land wanted to change the railroad-biggest technology. Kansas Nebraska Act-the railroad line was Indian, and Indians didn’t welcome white settlers. The government didn't care and told the Indians to move somewhere else.

Ken Burns the civil war
Showed that Americans were killing Americans. Devastation was nothing that the Americans have ever seen (until World War II). They knew they were making history. Made some rich and some poor. The war was a new birth of freedom. even if you were in the north or south-black people cleaned after the Americans battles. The last veteran died in 1859. The civil war changed america's pathway. They should have followed the constitution-they should have all been treated equal. They never knew when they expected death or war.

In what situations might compromise not work?

For teenagers and Laws

There are many ways in which compromise doesn’t work. For teenagers it is different because it is mostly a compromise on liberty. For example if you would like to go out with your friends and your parents do not allow you to, then you can not because it is no compromise. If you are at school and a teacher tells you to complete an assignment than you are forced to do it for your own good or else you will have consequences. If you are with your friends and you have to choose between working or having fun then you should do what ever you want to do it’s a compromise with yourself. Another example is if you are in trouble with the law then you have to obey the judge or police and do what they tell you to it is not a personal choice.

Another way where compromise will not work is in the Torah or in the Coran when they tell you to not do certain things like eat Pork and drink alcohol or to eat shrimps or other certain fishes then you are obliged to not do those things to be a pure Muslim or Jewish or any other religion. Another example is a health issue for example smoking or drinking alcohol and driving these are other things you should not do one for your own health and for your protection to avoid danger and problems.

For International Political, Social, or Economical Situations

International Political

In the United States if you are elected as a president for example then you cannot choose to change your post after a week or a month you should stay president until the day the people have to vote for another one. Once you are chosen you cannot bo back in the past you have to stay as a president and learn from your mistakes if you have made the wrong choice.

Internation Social

In morocco one example of social no compromise is that you are not really aloud to kiss a girl in public even though it's your wife, but people do it so it's a rule that is not respected. Another case is during the ramadan the people are not aloud to eat or drink in front of others who fast. They aren't aloud to drink alcohol either or do anything that is haram (strictly refused or not aloud) during the ramadan or else there will be very severe consequences either with the law or with God.

My Migration to the North

Today was the day I completed my university studies. I am very excited to start my new job that I studied a lot for. In one month I will migrate to London to begin my career in surgery. I will get there early enough to unpack and start thinking about an apartment or a house if I could find one to live in.
The category that medical studies should fit in is social, because you are in contact with many people, you operate patients and talk to their relatives. I think it's also an art in some way because it's the art of the organs and body structur. Artists study these bodies to pain, draw, or sculpt them and it's realted to what surgeons do they examine the body and study it.
The geography in ESPRAT+G will refer to my migration to another country and that's the only rellation it has with my work and myself. The job also comes with a minimum of modern technology because doctors most oftenly use computers, and many machines for the patients.
Finallay another important ESPRAT topic that should be there or available is the politics because the country in my opinion should continue being a free country and should accept any letters or comments about certain things by other people. In brien I hink that London best fits all of these criterias and that I will have a happy life over there.

Political Parties in Morocco

The Istiqlal Independence party is a Moroccan Political Party. It conserves the monarchist and it’s a member of the centrist democrat international. The Istiqlal was founded in the 1940s; it was the main political force that was struggling for the Moroccan independence. The party’s leader was Allal Al Fassi. The Moroccan independence won’t be complete if they had not liberated all the territories that were part of morocco. Allal made this happen by sending a letter in 1951 to Ahmed Belbachir the right hand of the caliph (representative of the state in his neighbourhood) Spanish Morocco. In his letter he wrote that he wanted to help prevent the Spanish morocco to obtain their independence separately. The achieved independence in 1956 made the party move into an opposition position against the monarchy. In the beginning, the Istiqlal was a bourgeois/wealthy people group. But now the group is very popular and is in the opposition against in the French and they are part of the independence.

The socialist Union of Popular Forces is a political party in morocco. It was formed as a breakup from the UNFP. The USFP is the fifth largest party in the parliament. The government of prime minister Abass al Fassi formed on October 15, 2007 included this political party. In the parliament election on September 27, 2002 the party won 50 out of 325 seats. The socialist union are in a group called the left/the socialist they are opposed to the capitalism unlike the right group. All the high students the old college Moroccan students support this group of socialists who want to make changements.

The justice and development party is the largest opposition political party in Morocco. The PJD (abbreviation for the justice and development party) helps the Islamism and Islamic democracy. This party was founded by Abdelkrim Al Khatib an old politician who is known for his close ties with the monarchy. This is called the MPDC (the popular movement of democracy and constitution). The justice party are all the Muslims who support this group.

The Independence national union is a Moroccan political party founded in 1978. Its general secretary is Mustapha Mansouri. During the legislative elections in September 17, 2002 the party had 41 seats in the parliament which made it fourth position in the political kingdom after the USFP. The RNI is represented by three ministers. This party is the independent people who support this group.

The authentic modern political party created the august 7, 2008 by the fusion of five Moroccan political parties. This fusion had been created by Fouad Ali El Himma. He is the ex-minister delegate and the king Mohamed 6’s personal friend. This political party has been initiated by the parliament independent group. This party is the new independents and the new power party.

The Origins of American Politics

1) Describe the debate over the nature of government. Compare the viewpoint of Jefferson vs. Hamilton.

· Jefferson’s secretary was opposed to Hamilton’s plans.

· Jefferson and Hamilton each had a different way of viewing the government, the human nature, as well as interpreting the constitution.

· Jefferson preferred a strict construction. He believed that the government should use the Constitution powers only when they have to.

· Hamilton preferred a loose construction. He thought that they could use the powers anytime for anything they wanted as long as they were not stopped by the constitution.

· Jefferson had more faith in the people than in the government.

· Hamilton though was betraying the example of the American Revolution.

· Jefferson opposed Hamilton’s federal plan.

2) What is a political party?

· A political party is a group of people who seek to win elections and hold public office in order to control government policy and programs.

The first political parties were:

- Democratic Society
- Jefferson’s Republicans

3) Describe John Adam’s presidency. What were some difficulties he faced?

· John Adams (October 30, 1735 – July 4, 1826) was the second president of the United States of America. He was an American Politician. He served as a leader during the American Revolution and as vice president for eight years. As a president, Adams faced the difficulty of trying to govern a young country where party differences were getting bigger. When John Adams started his presidency, The United States had a conflict with France in 1795. The merchants in the West Indies were attacked by pirates/privateers. In the year of 1797, John Adams sent three delegates to Paris to demand for peace, but when they arrived three American delegates requested a bribe of 250 000 dollars.

Four major quakes strike South Pacific

Map of striked places
In less than 11 hours, a fourth earthquake hit the Pacific Ocean near the island nation of Vanuatu on Thursday. They were part of 16 series of earthquakes that hit the same place, same period. The first of the three earthquakes hit the region in 70 minutes. The Hawaii center gave a false alert about a tsunami that did not occur. In that region they feel the earthquake shakes every weeks. Ten days earlier, a wave stroke the Vanautu islands and killed 178 people. There were no damages alerted after two hours. The tsunami made a quake that stroke the island with a magnitude of 7.8 (294 kilometres).

The Constitution and Bill of Rights

Order :

1st amendment

13th amendment

4th amendment

5th amendment

Article I

Why ?

I chose the first amendment first because i think that the freedom of choosing your religion, and freedom of speech and all the rest are the most important freedoms in the world. Someone’s own freedom cannot be chosen by someone else it has to be a personal choice and a personal allowance. The freedom of religion and speech comes before everything else. The freedom of speech is fundamental for a democracy.

After that I chose the 13th amendment because if slavery is allowed lots of people would want to own slaves and they will search in poor places. The population will decrease and many people will be tortured to death. The people are trying to make the world a peaceful place, and if the owning of slaves is allowed the world will continuously be in conflict. The people have to be treated equally with respect for everyone. All the people are the same the color doesn’t make any difference. There shouldn’t be any racism this law is very important for everyone not only the US.

Next I chose the 4th amendment due to the right of not authorizing the police enter homes and start searching for things without a mandate from the judge. The people have the right to be secure in their homes work places, papers, and effects. The police can’t just come in and start looking around just because they are policeman and that they have the right to do so. They need to follow the laws like everyone else and they need to have a mandate for this special kind of operation. No one should be above the law.

I chose the 5th amendment after those three, because it’s the right to defend oneself. The people who are charged for a crime have the right to have a lawyer because everyone is innocent unless their culpability is proved. If they start answering questions without the presence of a lawyer every statement that they say can be charged and used against them during the trial. This law has been created to be used so the people are allowed to ask for a lawyer under any circumstances. It also says that no one can be tried for the same crime twice. It proves that everyone should be treated equally.

Finally I chose the first article of the Constitution, because it proves that no one has the supreme power. People are represented by the senate the House of Representatives and a system of checks and balances. It means that no law can be voted if there is no majority. Within this system every citizen is represented and every voice counts.

Defeat of greatest power by the American Colonists

The american colonists and the British defeated the greatest power of their time, during the French and British and Indian war. They demonstrated that they were the strongest and they did so by being in the Revolutionary War. They first tremendously victored the war between them (British) and colonies far, far away. British and the colonies far away had a common enemy which was France. The control over North America was lead by the Europeans, which explored the Indian lands, while the English prepared and built their settlements. Some conflicts erupted, because the English claimed that some of the territories were theirs. The beginning of French and Indian War has started. The British and their American colonists fought against the French and their Indian allies. In the beginning the British's fighting was very poor. However in 1758, the British started to overtake the French and Indian forces. The Iroquois changed their support to the British, this also had a proof of their strength and intelligence. In 1759, the British invaded New France and captured it, and that lead to more victories for the British. After the war the american colonists had to pay taxes and it was a lot of taxes.

Wednesday, 30 September 2009

Natural rights: Rights, freedoms and privileges which are such a basic part of human nature that they cannot be taken away.

Popular sovereignty: A pre-Civil War doctrine asserting the right of the people living in a newly organized territory to decide by vote of their territorial legislature whether or not slavery would be permitted there. Right to revolution: A right or duty, variously stated throughout history, possessed by subjects of a state that justifies their action to overthrow the government to whom the subjects otherwise would owe allegiance.

Right of self determination: It is the right of the people of a nation to decide how they want to be governed without the influence of any other country.

Social contract: An agreement among the members of an organized society or between the governed and the government defining and limiting the rights and duties of each.

WHY ?

Why I chose this order?

I chose this order, because I am sure that natural rights come before everything else. I think that, because it is the human freedom, liberty, and privileges and it's very important for everyone. Next comes the popular sovereignty, because it's a global reflection or opinion or right over many things such as permition of slavery and i think that it comes after natural rights because it's like a natural right but this time it's a global right taken in consideration. After that I chose right to revolution, in behalf of the right or duty throughout history. I think it is an important state to but not as much as the two first ones, because people are aloud tu revolt but not against anything, because they may get to revolt, but go to prison because of certain revolutions against certain things in that case it doesn't come before the others. Next I chose the right of self determination, due to rights and liberty of expression. I think that it is very fair to be able to revolt, or choose to decide on certain things that we think are not right. The right to choose how someone wants to be governed is one of the most important rights for me but it still doesn't come before all those. To be governed is something but to be forced to have a strict or maybe unfair government is another thing and I personally think that anyone could have rights in deciding or choosing or voting for a better one. Last but not least, I chose the social contract, because it's a social discussion or agreement between the people and the government that's what the right of self determination needs a discussion directly with the government to express their feelings, emotions or beliefs and many other things about the state and how they may change it or do good things for the nation and for them too it's a free expression social and government contact so they have the opportunity to chat directly with the "high class" to tell what's on their minds and give their opinions about certain things that go bad and can go well in the future if they change and if they decide to listen to these people and act among their stating.

Why study history?

History has different affection for our society. People learn and listen about history to go forward in their lives. It has various degrees of culture that can help our future. Societies involve their understanding in life with history to continue their own existence. It helps us want to believe in change and accept many deceptions. We learn that we are not different from each other and are not the first human on earth. History is a need for us to compare with reality. In a way, history is an example of our present. We feel better by knowing that we improved after all these years. I would conclude it as an exceptional relief. Personally history has always affected me in an uncertain way. One example of the french colonial influence on me as a Moroccan is that now i naturally speak french, and i have a double culture. It makes me wonder how different life is from the past and how would it be in the future. I could probably say that I love history because of what it teaches us, which is in my point of view knowing what happened before us and how different it was so that we can be ready for anything that might occur tomorrow. There is a quote I always use as a reference which is about life and that it's a crazy ride and we never know what is going to happen tomorrow.

French colonization in Morocco

France was controlled by Morocco until the year of 1956.When it was finally done, many things done in Morocco still follow the way France did things, like the banking system, some business and many others. While the majority of people in Morocco know a certain amount of French, there are many who know little or none.

In Morocco you can see the influence of the French everywhere, especially in the architecture.
In some areas of northern Morocco people speak more Spanish than they speak French.

Not only is the language left in morocco, there is still some of the French cuisine and culture here also. Arabic is the first language but French is taught in most of the schools as a second language.
